Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (VOG) astounds the Ghana National Amputee Football Team with Gh¢100,000.00
On Sunday, 12th of May 2024, which marks a day set to acknowledge the profound impact mothers and maternal figures have on our lives, The Ghana National Amputee Football Team (Black Challenge) visited the headquarters of Believers Worship Centre in Kumasi Kenyasi-Adwumam, Teacher Nkwanta. During church service, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God) welcomed and invited the delegation led by Mr. Emmanuel Akpagbli representing the management team who expressed his privilege to be part of the Sunday service. According to him, the purpose of their visit was to seek favor from Adom Nyame and emerge winners for the upcoming 2024 Amputee Football African Cup of Nations (AAFCON) set to take place in Cairo, Egypt and acts as a qualifier to the 2026 World Cup in USA.
Mr. Emmanuel Akpagbli added that he being an advocator, The Ghana National Amputee Team (Black Challenge) holds the title as defending champions of the Amputee African Cup of Nations, having won the tournament hosted in Tanzania.
Additionally, they hosted and won the first ever maiden Para Game in Ghana. They were awarded Gold at the inaugural African Paralympic Games held in Ghana in 2023 by defeating Morocco 2-1 in the grand finale. “Apart from the Black Stars, Amputee Soccer is the plan of disability sports in Ghana. Currently in Ghana, we are two-time champions thus adjudging us as the first ever Africa Para Games and the Champions of Africa Cup of Nations. Disability is not inability hence we are self-motivated to succeed; we cannot lose for them to go back to the streets which is against the rules of God” says Mr. Emmanuel Akpagbli.
He further highlighted the financial challenges faced by the team in their previous tournaments. He ended by emphasizing on their faith and belief in the God of Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God) which is why they came to seek favor from Him.
Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God) enthusiastically asked Philadelphia Royals worldwide, together in faith, join and pray for our disabled brothers with the prayer materials. He was gratified to see the amputees not begging on the streets but rather used their God-given talents to execute something beneficial for the country. He also elaborated on how the disabled brothers have been a beacon of hope to the hopeless; serving as an evidence that God exists.
Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God) voluntarily gave the Ghana National Amputee Team (The Black Challenge), Gh¢100,000.00 to support the upcoming 2024 Amputee Football African Cup of Nations (AAFCON) in Egypt. “Though disabled, their intentions were not to come begging the Church for assistance but to seek the favor of Adom Nyame in bringing the trophy to Ghana”, says The Voice of God.
This was a rare occasion in the history of Philadelphians as the Voice of God personally presented them with the money. Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah (The Voice of God) added that he does not exercise any presentation, however, he was deeply moved by the godly intentions of the team hence his desire to present the cash donation of One hundred thousand Ghana cedis (Gh¢100,000.00) to the leaders of the team led by Mr. Emmanuel Akpagbli in the church auditorium. That did not end there as he blessed them immensely to go and return the trophy to Ghana. Surprisingly, one of the team players is an usher in the Philadelphia Movement at Nsawam branch and this was good news to the Philadelphia Royals who introduced Adom Nyame to the Team.
Mr. Emmanuel Akpagbli, on behalf of the Ghana National Amputee Team ( The Black Challenge) expressed a heartfelt appreciation to The Voice of God and the Philadelphia Movement for the gift and also promised that with the prayers and support from the Philadelphia Movement, they will win the trophy and present it to Believers Worship Centre to share their testimonies.
He therefore used the medium given him to advise parents with disabled children not to let their limitations overshadow their talents or subject them to begging because sports could reveal such talents which will be fruitful to the Parents and the State. he concluded by saying that parents with disabled children should keep their heads up, show care and love all.
